The economy suffered a big downturn this year, as I'm sure all of you are aware. And with it went a lot of our production, capital, and manpower. As a result, MK and I will be heading to ACC on Saturday only. We anticipate having, at the very least, some proof copies of a couple of our newest releases (Permanent Eclipse, Maximum Kaliber, and the CORE-7 System). It's possible that we will have some books in hand to sell, but even if not, we'll be prepared to take orders online.
Regarding Hardened Heroes & Fiendish Foes, we've suffered a severe setback. It was our first project that we decided to pay an outside editor to do the work. Her experience and background fit, and her price point was right where we needed it to be. We were told 2-3 weeks for a first review, and then about a week or so for a second runthrough after we'd made corrections. That was mid-January. To date, we've received only 2/3 of the edited book, and have not heard back from the editor since the first week of May.
Needless to say, HH&FF will not have quite the pomp and circumstance we'd been anticipating this year at the Con. We believe we should have a CORE-7 setting, entitled Hardened Heroes, nearly completed by the time we hit ACC. But the full RARE book, HH&FF may still have another month or two of work left. What we are prepared to do at ACC '09 is to take preorders for Hardened Heroes (the CORE-7 version). It will be a great deal, ensuring that you receive a PDF copy as soon as it is available, but also that you are shipped a full color, printed copy of the book after the proof is approved. So, if you pay for a printed copy, you'll get the PDF for free. This will only be available for ACC '09 Saturday patrons.
We hope to see you there!
