We are currently looking for artists who may want to see their work depicted in the Broken Swords & Battered Shields expansion, Repticus Nation: Kingdlom of Drak'ul. We will need artwork, preferably black and white, for filler graphics such as landscapes. We will also need various Repticus drawn, and below I will include a description of the Repticus that appear in the new expansion. Anything from full body shots, busts, silouhettes, and whatever else. Feel free to draw in color if that is your preference!

Repticus are tall, ranging between 6.5' to 7.5' tall (sometimes taller), with tails averaging around 4'-9" in length. The Repticus as slender, but with very defined muscle tones. The Repticus have 5 clawed fingers (each hand) and 3 clawed toes (each foot), sometimes with another small claw coming out of the back of each heel. They are slender at the waist, but robust in the chest, slightly less robust with females.

Repticus were normal 4-legged reptiles when they were first created with all the other creatures of the world by Lunaria and Solaris (Lun'Tril and Sol'Tril in the Repticus language). But these gods had a cousin, Tyranus, who tricked them into granting him more power which he used for evil purposes. The first thing he did was bless the primitive reptiles with intelligence and heightened evolution, which is what brought about the Repticus we see in the world of BS&BS today. So they weren't born of dragons, it just happened that their god's physical manifestation was that of a prismatic dragon.

The Repticus females lay eggs, usually from 4 to 10 at a time after 6 months of pregnancy. These eggs are then put into one of the Imperial Hatcheries. This is where the eggs are cared for and protected for the next 3 months. This is when the hatchling Repticus come out of the eggs and are looked after for another 3 months before the hatchlings are given back to their families.

On males, you tend to see very defined facial features, including small horns protruding from the back of the jawbone towards the back of their head (only about an inch long, ranging from 3 to 5 horns on each jawbone). Now, on females, you tend to see softer facial features, and instead of horns you will see strands of long hair growing out of the back of the jawbones flowing over the shoulders, sometimes as long as to the middle of their backs. This hair can be of any color, and whatever color it is it will always be of the brightest shade at the jawbone, and gradually go to its darkest shade at the end of the strands. Females also have very defined muscle tone, but do not have as robust of a chest as a male.

The Repticus scales are shaped like triangles facing downwards and overlapping. The two corners at the top are rounded, with the downward part of the triangle coming to a point. The scales are also thickest at the top, and very sharp at the bottom. Repticus scales can be in shades of the following colors: grey (light to dark), green (mid to dark), red (mid to dark), brown (light to dark), olive (light to dark). Because they were once belly-crawling reptiles, the chest and abdominal area is not scaly; it is softer hide and is always white or tan.

Their ears are just small slits behind the jawbone. The jawbone actually protrudes outwards a bit. The legs would actually shoot backwards below the knees, then straight down to the feet. I guess envisioning a T-Rex's legs would be easiest, but more slender and with more muscle tone (think speed and agility).

Now, to understand what Repticus architecture looks like, think Rome and Greece. The beasts that roam the land vary, however the military uses certain dinosaurs in the ranks. The Imperial Army uses Gorgons (gorgonopsids) as beasts of burden, and the civilians use them as beasts of burden and travel. The Imperial Army also uses Bloodbacks (einiosaurus) for heavy cavalry nd Shredder Beasts (eipiaosaurus) for regular cavalry. The Imperial Air Lances use the Bloodshrykes (ornithocheirus).

If anyone wishes to submit some art for consideration, please e-mail it to vampyrefobk@comcast.net. Thank you!

I almost forgot. The actual flag of the Repticus is the same as my avatar on all of my posts. =)
