It was written long ago that Aphrodite had blessed a woman's belt with the power of love, that whosoever she wished to fall in love with her - did. And so it is here that our tale begins...

When the woman beseeched her deity, Aphrodite, she pleaded with her to help her acquire the love of the man she so desired to have. He was her everything and without him she would die. Upon hearing the woman's cries for affection day after day, the goddess appeared to the woman one day and asked her, "what is it about this man that so causes you to cry such tears of anguish?"

The startled woman, after collecting her composure, told Aphrodite of the fire of passion which burned in her soul every time she looked into his eyes and wished he would feel the same. The goddess, feeling compelled to help the woman, took her belt and blessed it with a kiss of love. She told the woman that when any man looked upon her when she wore the belt, they would fall deeply in love with her. She also instructed the woman to be very careful, for the power of love was nothing to be taken lightly or to be used in folly. She thanked the goddess and took the belt with a smile.

Her heart was pounding when she put on the belt and carefully displayed herself to the man she passionately wanted. Upon seeing here, he fell madly in love with her and that night she her dreams came true. In the morning when he awoke to find he was in her bed, he went completely crazy with guilt, for he was happily married. He took the woman and had her put to death secretly that very morning, for if it was known that a common woman had seduced the king of Sparta there would be inner court turmoil. The belt was lost.

The belt emerged again in England, where it is said to have been worn by the magess Morgan Le' Fey and used to seduce Arthur her brother. It was through this belt's magic that Morgan gave birth to Mordred.  As to the Arthurian legends, scholars have argued for centuries as to whether or not this story is truth or fiction, but rest assured that certain information discovered in a journal after World War II is true. This journal was penned by Winston Churchill, in which he states that he held in his possession Excalibur throughout the war. He received the blade during the bombing of London. His writings state that a mysterious woman came to him and gave him the package with instructions to return it to an unspecified lake after the war. There are no further entries that state he did return it.

There are further accounts of the belt surfacing throughout the ages, all with a detrimental ending. Where the belt is today, nobody knows. The Foundation is deviling into some of these mysteries at this present time.  These two items are not related to each other, only in the evidence that they both were together at a single juncture in time. It is not unusual for artifacts to coexist in the same environment, but the chances are slim. By tracking down the belt, it is quite possible to collect valuable information on whether or not the Arthurian legends are actually true. There are ways of extracting past information from the items.

The Foundation likes to keep its employees up to date on any information regarding artifacts they are searching for. By keeping their employees in the light, they in turn may reveal information they might have discovered or heard about. All leads are checked, none are ever discounted.
